Hi, I’m Pelayo Méndez, a digital artist and creative coder based in Barcelona, Spain. My journey into the world of coding began with a fascination for how technology can mirror the poetic essence of written language. I see programming as a powerful tool for creating electronic art, blending interactive design with artistic narratives. With a background in Communication Sciences and Literary Theory, I bring a unique perspective to my work, merging technical skill with a deep appreciation for storytelling.

For over a decade, I’ve worked as a freelance creative coder and interaction designer, collaborating on international projects that explore the intersection of transmedial digital communication and real-time electronic landscapes. My creations range from generative visuals and interactive installations to immersive performances, often developed using open-source tools and methodologies. Living in Barcelona, a city pulsing with creativity, inspires me to push the boundaries of what code can achieve.

My portfolio reflects a diverse range of experiences, from coding audio-reactive concerts to designing visuals for theatrical productions with groups like La Fura dels Baus.
